We spent Friday afternoon at the dealership trying to get a 2005 Scion that we really like. However, to make a long story short, we sat there for over 1 hour to be told that another couple had come in and looked at the same car 20 min before we did and they were approved for the loan so we couldn't have the car.
So yesterday we went back to look again b/c they said they would give us a deal since we were so patient to wait on Fri and didn't get the car. Well first we stopped and looked at a car at another dealership we passed and were just not impressed with any of their cars. So back to the dealership we go.
We got there and they recommended a car for us to try out and we did. It was amazing and so amazing that we bought it and brought it home with us! The manager followed through on his promise and we got a great deal! So now we are official owners of a 2003 Buick Rendezvous with only 84k miles. It is such a blessing! We love it and esp the love the roominess and the fact that there are 3 rows of seats. So the search is over and we are happy with our new vehicle. In the end everything worked out for the best! Below are pictures of our new crossover!
If you are ever in the need for a new car and are in the Lexington area let us know and we will send you to Don Jacobs to speak with our friend Harrison!

2nd Anniversary and new car
Yesterday was our 2nd anniversary. It is hard to believe that 2 years has already passed. So much has changed in those 2 years, yet watching our wedding video last night it seemed like we got married just a few days ago.
We spent most of yesterday either in class or at work. Matt had an 8 am class and then went with me (isn't he a good husband) to babysit. At 12 he went to work and I got a few things done like going to bank and then off to class at 1. The great thing what that while we both had to be in class at 2:30 we at least got to be in the same class. After class we went to dinner at the same Japanese steak house we went to last year and then off to look at some cars to replace ours. Then we went to our favorite little coffee shop in Lexington. Finally, we headed home and watched our wedding video. It was so much fun.
After we took the car to the adjuster to be appraised we were informed that our car was totaled. Yep, totaled! We have been diligently looking, but just have not decided on a car, but will hopefully make a decision sometime this weekend. Any suggestions?
Anyway, here are some pictures of the 2nd anniversary events:

Dinner at Azuka Japanese Hibachi Grill
Matt excited about Dinner!
Our presents to each other. I gave Matt 2 t-shirts that he has been asking for. One has a dinosaur from one of his favorite webcomics and yes the dino is flying through the air holding a bunch of balloons. The second t-shirt has the phrase "feelings are boring, kissing is awesome". I know it is completely inappropriate for the soon to be counselor and soon to be campus minister, but you have to admit it is kinda funny. Matt gave me an ipod and armband that is also my birthday present. I love it and hope it gets me motivated to go walking and get in shape!
It was an amazing anniversary and I can't wait for the next 80 anniversaries!

And the semester begins!
So let's go back a bit first to the end of July/beginning of Aug. Matt's Great Grandmother, Mamaw Stout, turned 100! Her birthday was July 30th and then her party was Aug 2nd. Here are some pictures of the party. The great grand children that attended

everyone with Mamaw
Next we move onto the wreck. On Monday evening (Labor Day) Matt and I were on our way back from TN and a lady hit us. We were sitting patiently at a red light for 30 seconds after getting off the interstate and a lady was not paying attention and rear-ended us. All I can say is I am so glad she veered off and tried to miss us of that would have been even worse. We are all ok, but Peggy is not as you can see below!
Here is the new lamp that we will be using to put together our puzzles. Our livingroom is also much brighter and we like it.
Here is our final puzzle for a while. We are going to get settled into school and then start on some more. Notice that it is a picture of the Kentucky Derby.
Also, classes stared back yesterday. Matt and I have a class together, which I think will be good. We also have one other class each that meets once a week and then we both have a class that meets only a few times in the semester. At the moment we are not too stressed. Ok, I am not too stressed and Matt is not stressed at all which is the usual. That is it for now and I can't promise too many posts, but I will do my best for all of my 2 readers out there!
