Elections and Campaigns

So it is election/campaign time. The other day we came home and found this on our door.

You may have to click on the picture to read it, but I cannot believe that this man is running for Mayor. From what we know, this is the first time someone has run against the current Mayor of Wilmore in many years. This man, Robert Bailey, wants to be our Mayor, but lets take a close look at his flyer.
There are so many things wrong with it! Please take a look and let us discuss!
Here are a few that come to mind immediately:
  1. Elect Mayor not elected Mayor
  2. "complete Audit" (capital A)
  3. Sewer rate not sewer rates
  4. "fresh ideal and Concepts", Matt says maybe he has a friend named Concepts
  5. He will stand behind our offices all the way- I don't know what that means
  6. The arrests cannot be posted in the newspaper b/c we do not have a newspaper!
  7. I'm not sure why he felt the need to start 7 or the 9 statements with "I", but not all of them
  8. I didn't know anyone even wanted to disband the Dare Program
  9. He plans to answer all of my complaints- hahaha I have so many and some of them have nothing to do with the office he is running for, do you think he will still listen to them?
  10. I was pretty sure that the Mayor was required to be in the office at least 5 days a week.
  11. He looks a little, ummm, drunk in his picture.
  12. I'm pretty sure that is his cell # down under his picture.

Finally, we looked up his facebook group for his campaign and he said that he is for the people of Wilmore, not for Asbury. I think I understand what he is saying, but also I think he forgot that lots of the people he is campaigning to are Asbury University and Seminary students. I mean seriously, he put that on my door and then told me he wasn't for me. Not cool!!!

Ok, let the discussion begin. Do you see any other problems with the flyer?

this is funny! "your" should be "you're" at the bottom.

One of Wilmore's finest, I see. Poor fella. I can't help but feel sorry for him. I wonder if he lost his parking space at Fitch's IGA.
