Adventures with Aunt Sarah

Aunt Sarah came to meet Ruthie this past week during her spring break. We had lots of fun eating out, going to Shaker Village, playing Wii, and just spending time together.

Here is Ruthie wearing her Hog outfit from Aunt Sarah who is now is grad school at the University of Arkansas. It isn't something I would pick for her to wear and I nor her father endorse this team, but she sure can make anything look cute!

Here Matt and Sarah are enjoying their picnic lunch at Shaker Village. Look at that face on Matt! hahaha
Enjoying the scenery

A group shot
The Stout siblings with Ruthie Roo

Aunt Sarah reading Ruthie a bedtime story, I believe it is "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"
One more photo before Sarah leaves
This is the stuffed Dinosaur Comic T-Rex that Aunt Sarah bought for Ruthie and I think that right now Matt is enjoying it even more than Miss Ruthie
We had a wonderful time with Sarah and can't wait to hang out with her again very soon!

We also had some professional pictures of Ruthie done last weekend, which I think I mentioned on here. Anyway, here is the link for the sneak peek: http://stephanielyell.com/blog/2011/03/22/baby-ruthie/
I cannot wait to get all of the pics!

In other news, maybe you noticed the new background of the blog. I decided it was time for a change since this is the only background we have had in the last 3 years of having this blog.

Finally, next week we will be in Macon, GA. If you are there and want to hang out or want to come to town to hang out with the Stouts and meet Ruth just let us know. We will travel on the 1st and 6th and already have a few things planned for the time we are there, but we would love to see you if you have time!

Ruthie is 2 months old!

Ruthie Roo turned a whole 2 months old on Friday. My baby girl had a big day.
First, it was her favorite puppy's anniversary of joining the family. Such a wonderful decision that we stand by to this day. We just love Maggie Mags so much and couldn't imagine our life without her!
Second, Ruthie had her 2 month dr.'s appointment on Friday. She is in the 3rd percentile for length and weight and 10th for head circumference. Ruthie was 8 lbs and 20 3/4 inches long and her head circumference was 37.
Third, Ruthie got her first round of shots. She was a trooper and only cried for about 2 minutes afterward and was pretty good the rest of the day probably due to the tylenol! She is still a little puny, but is doing just fine. Today, we actually had some professional pics done of her and she did awesome for the most part. Stephanie Lyell, a local photographer, did the pics and what we saw on the camera screen was amazing and we cannot wait to get the proofs. Stephanie will also be doing some 6th month and one year photos. Yay!
So here are the pics I took of Ruthie on her month-a-birthday:

Mom didn't we just do this yesterday.

ok, I'll smile for you...
but only once.
I'm ready to be finished mom...
Just one more!
Look at those cute feet!
Seriously, was this necessary momma!
I'M FINISHED!
So today, we decided to try the Bumbo. She doesn't care for it though. She was crying within seconds of this shot.
Also, right now we are waiting for Aunt Sarah to arrive and had to dress for the occasion. Ruthie was so excited when we told her that Aunt Sarah was coming that she was moved to tears. haha
I will only be doing a month by month update of Ruthie, but don't worry there will still be plenty of pics!

Things for the month:
I got your first big smile on camera!
Momma and Daddy left you for the first time for a date and it was very difficult and we returned in 2 hours!
You took your first road trip to TN.
You met you great great Mamaw and got a 5 generation picture. Not many people in this world will or have met their great great grandparent and we will treasure those pictures forever.
You finally are gaining weight properly.
You went to church for the first time.
You still like swinging.
You had your first cold/allergies.
You and Maggie are becoming even better friends!
You are sleeping so much better. Momma and Daddy are getting at least 4 to 5 hours of straight sleep a night and we are so happy about that!
We love you oh so much and are so happy to be your parents!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ruthie's St. Patrick's Day photo shoot...She has learned to smile and it is so precious!

And here is our first baby! Her "gotcha day" is tomorrow! I can't believe it will be 2 years since we got Maggie. Life has changed so much and I wouldn't want it any other way!
That means that we celebrate both of our girls tomorrow!

Ruthie is 8 weeks old!

Ruthie is starting to show personality and smile! I love it!
She also turns when she hears her momma or daddy's voice. It is wonderful!

We want Ruth and Mags to get to know each other better, so here we are sitting them together and letting Ruthie pet Maggie.

Our 2 girls!
Ruthie took the pacifier for just a few seconds and here she is. Also check out the cute little Winnie the Pooh outfit!

I got Ruthie smiling some during a diaper change

This is what our precious child looks like when she is upset.

This is our adorable child sleeping. So peaceful!
All swaddled up and I highly recommend "Happiest Baby on the Block" to all mothers. My friend Missy showed it to me. We tried the swaddling and other "4 S's" and Ruthie is now sleeping peacefully for up to 6 hours most nights! Momma and Daddy feel great!
More smiling! Adorable if I do say so myself!

Tummy Time to help strengthen the neck muscles. My baby may be small, but she is strong!
Look at those beautiful eyes!
Listening to Momma read to her
We go to the Dr. on Friday for Ruthie's 2 MONTH APPOINTMENT! Wow! We also get our 2 month shots that day so Daddy will be going for moral support for Momma and Ruthie Roo.
We will let you all know progress on Miss Ruth's weight and stuff when we return home on Friday! I can't wait to see how my baby girl has grown in the last 2 months. I sure have enjoyed watching her grown and I am excited for what we are learning all together as a family of 3! Fun stuff people, We love it! I feel so blessed and love our new life! I couldn't even imagine life without Ruth Sara Stout! We are just so in love with her and even more in love with each other, if that is possible! (and I think Matt would agree.)
